PWC 100 May 17 Program How Will We Get Our Local News in 2017
Not much more than fifteen years ago there were three daily newspapers in Prince William County. Today no paper publishes more often than five days a week, and the most widely distributed is reportedly up for sale. All around the country, newspapers are either going out of business or diversifying by also offering news through electronic media.
On May 17 the Committee of 100 will hear from a distinguished panel about the current market for print journalism, the role that electronic media can and cannot play in covering local news, and the accuracy and reliability of local reporting in the era of blogs and advocacy journalism.
For all the details on the program as well as how to make a reservation for dinner, please go here.
